The sixth Art Visuals & Poetry Film Festival was held for the first time at Künstlerhaus Wien from November 9 to 13, 2021. The festival has been held since 2013 and in 7 years has grown to become the second largest poetry film festival in the world.

Festival poet 2021 Antonio Fian (Austria)

The 2021 festival poet of the Art Visuals & Poetry Film Festival is the Carinthian writer Antonio Fian, who lives in Vienna. He is very well known domestically for his satirical columns in the Austrian daily newspaper Der Standard. The following festival poem "ruhwunsch" by Antonio Fian is to be filmed in very different ways around the world as part of a poetry film competition called SPECIAL AWARD

       Dear art lovers, dear colleagues

 

 

 

To have overcome and outlasted the current art crisis is an achievement  for a festival like ours. Covid-19 has turned the art scene upside down in 2020. Many events could not take place.

NEW: The deadline for the main competition has been extended to June 30, 2021!

 

The Art Visuals & Poetry Film Festival is the only poetry film festival based in Austria. The main focus is to support German language poetry films. The sixth edition is currently scheduled for Middle of November 2021. The Vienna Poetry Film Festival offers also a large international film program, which is curated by the festival team.

Saturday, 5th of December 17:30  "KAFKA GOES INTO CINEMA"
The Filmarchiv Austria shows newly restored historical films that Franz Kafka has seen. The silent film screening will be accompanied live on piano by Gerhard Gruber.
