The Poetry Film Competition:
The first Poetry Film Festival 2014 has received 60 valid entries. Two competitions have been set up and announced. The first Poetry Film Competition was reserved for Austrian short films. For the second international poetry film competition, a given poem had to be used, which was made available as a soundtrack by the festival. In 2014 Georg Trakl's Kaspar Hauser Lied was chosen by the festival director. 13 Kaspar Hauser poetry film adaptations from the Netherlands, Belgium, USA, Australia, England, Germany and Austria were submitted. 13 film adaptations from the Netherlands, Belgium, USA, Australia, England, Germany and Austria were submitted. The best films were presented during the festival.
Host country Norway
The competition programme was selected by a 6-member independent jury. The opening evening on 5th of November was dedicated to international film. Two top international films were shown, "April in Paris" by George Chkheidze and Jochen Kuhn's " Sonntag 3" (German Short Film Award 2013). After a reading by Sophie Reyer the festival presented poetry films from host country Norway. The Norwegian program was curated by Birgit Hatehol, director of the Oslo Poetry Film Festival.
