After the success 2014 the festival organizers decided to go for another film competition based on a classical poem. The Austro-Hungarian poet Rainer Maria Rilke and his love poem "An Lou Andre-Salome" written in 1911 were chosen in 2017. Lou Salomé got the poem in a letter from Rilke many years after they split.
As in 2014 the Art Visuals & Poetry Film Festival offered a professional sound recording for download including copyrights and English translation for free. The competion was about to make a poetry film based on the poem "To Lou Andre-Salome". 13 Rilke films were chosen and screened at the fourth Art Visuals & Poetry Film Festival in Vienna. The winning film and some others can be watched online. The winner was selected by a independant jury.
